Cutting energy usage by a third by installing PIR system to existing lighting

NVC Lighting’s UK operation is based in purpose-built premises in Birmingham which includes our offices, 90,000 ft² of warehouse space and an assembly facility for made-to-order products.

Of course, it is lit by NVC’s products internally and externally, with the majority being OREGON IKO9, IP20 rated industrial luminaires in the warehouse and FULTON IP40, edge lit, LED recessed panels in the offices.

With soaring energy bills, and as part of our commitment to reduce our carbon footprint, we have integrated a Philips MasterConnect lighting automation system with PIR sensors to the existing lighting so that lights are automatically turned off when there is no one using the facilities.

NVC Lighting Director of Product and Marketing Phil Brown said: “This system was quick and easy to install by our in-house maintenance team and resulted in average energy savings of around 33% per month which is good for the bottom line and good for the environment.”
