The Co-op’s roots go back to 1844 and the company opened its first retail stores in 1863. It now employs around 70,000 people and continues to be owned by its members and focussed on benefiting the communities where it operates.
It has more than 2,500 local, convenience and medium-sized stores and new stores continue to open with one of the latest being Reepham in Norfolk. This facility was built on a new development that includes a 60-bedroom care home and a mixture of assisted living homes as well as other retailers and a café.
Lighting the exterior and car park so that it is a safe environment for local residents and other customers to visit the Co-op was vital. B&C Electrical was asked to recommend and install appropriate light fittings and worked with NVC’s team to prepare lighting design calculations and specify fittings that would achieve what was required.
NVC Lighting products installed at the Co-Op in Reepham include the Belfry, an IK09, IP66 rated, LED streetlight luminaire, the Odessa, an IP65 rated LED floodlight and the Portland, an IP54 rated decorative LED circular bulkhead.
Chris O’Dwyer, Director of B&C Electrical says: “NVC’s lighting design partners provide an excellent service that is really helpful to explain to clients why we have chosen the products we have and the performance they can expect to achieve. NVC’s products are always high quality and cost-effective and delivered efficiently.”
