The Brighter Choice
Hutton & Cawood is a family owned building contractor based in Halifax. Established in 1965, it was originally a cabinet maker and joinery business and has expanded its services to provide a wide range of joinery services as well as construction of new build premises and refurbishment and remodelling projects.
When Hutton & Cawood was asked to improve the efficiency and performance of the lighting for Hanson Plywood’s 3,400 sqm warehouse it turned to local electrical contractors B&C Electrical for advice. B&C has supplied products from NVC Lighting for many years to a wide range of its customers.
NVC worked with B&C director Chris O’Dwyer to understand Hutton & Cawood’s specific requirements so that appropriate products could be specified.
A combination of fittings was chosen for the warehouse’s interior and exterior including Kelso, the IP20 rated LED low-bay, industrial luminaire suitable both for surface mounted and suspended installations for the loading bay and Lynx, NVC Lighting’s IK08, IP66 rated LED asymmetric floodlight for the outside areas.
Chris says: “The NVC products installed achieved an 70% energy saving for Hutton & Cawood which they are delighted with. Plus, the products are more reliable than what they had previously which brings additional cost savings from reduced maintenance.”
