University for the Creative Arts (UCA) has several campuses including its largest at Farnham in Surrey, which has a long history, going back more than 45 years as a respected art and design institution. UCA Farnham aims to provide an inspirational, creative place for its 2,000 students to study and is continually investing in improving its facilities to achieve this goal.

Several new learning facilities have been added recently that were built offsite by Integra Buildings, a leading UK manufacturer of innovative, bespoke modular buildings and steel anti-vandal solutions.

They contracted N&P, a successful, growing electrical building services contractor that is based in Hull and provides a range of electrical services to public and private sector clients across the UK.

N&P installed more than 100 edge lit, LED recessed modular panels from NVC Lighting during the college’s holiday period to minimise inconvenience to students and staff.

N&P Director Paul Gray said: “We used to use LED panels from another supplier but by using NVC we receive better service and more cost-effective pricing with no reduction in performance so we tend to install their products wherever appropriate.”

For this project N&P selected STERLING and FULTON panels. While similar in appearance and performance, STERLING delivers a lower UGR for applications where low glare is required. The STERLING panel is also TP(a) rated which gives contractors additional flexibility because this rating means that no checks or calculations are required to ensure that their usage is within the stipulations of the building regulations.
