NVC Lighting’s UK photometric laboratory has been assessed by the Lighting Industry Association (LIA) and is now (September 2023) classed as an LIA Registered Photometric Laboratory.
During the assessment process, engineers from the LIA’s own laboratory visited NVC to check every aspect of the laboratory’s work. This included checking the state of the equipment and how it is calibrated and maintained, staff training and the laboratory’s procedures and record keeping. Furthermore, it is a condition of the LIA registration that an annual calibration check is completed, comparing the test results obtained for a sample fitting from the NVC photometric laboratory with results obtained for the same sample from the LIA’s own laboratory.
Peter Adams, Technical Manager commented: “The primary function of NVC Lighting’s photometric laboratory is to test our products and publish performance data, including photometric data files for use in the Dialux and Relux lighting design systems. Having this accreditation from the LIA is further assurance to all NVC’s customers that the data we publish can be relied on because it is at the highest levels of accuracy and consistency.”
Alongside NVC Lighting UK’s other accreditations, such as ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environmental management), ISO 45001 (health & safety) and ISO 22301 (business continuity), this is further assurance that NVC UK is a strong lighting partner, ready and able to take on the largest projects.
